Updated Choir Dates! Please read

Hudson Choir Dates 16-17

Friday, April 27: HS Choir performance of national anthem at pep rally.  Wear black choir polos and unripped, long blue jeans.

May 11: Spring Pops Concert Dress rehearsal in auditorium for all 7th-12th grade choir students; 3:30 to5:15.  

May 12: Spring Pops Concert Dress rehearsal in auditorium for 6th grade choir students; 3:30-5:15.

May 15: Spring Pops Concert day performance for 5th graders at 9 a.m.; choir students must be in auditorium by 8 a.m.

May 15: Spring Pops Concert evening performance; call is at 5:30 for New Image and 6:00 for all other choir students.  The concert will start at 6:30.  Students are to wear long, unripped blue jeans and school-appropriate shirts in bright colors of their choice.

May 19: New Image Spring Show; call is at 5:30 p.m.  Show starts at 6:30.

May 20: New Image Spring Show: call is at 4 p.m.  Show starts at 5 p.m.  

May 26: Choir field trip to Six Flags; this is for students who have performed in both the pre-UIL concert and the Spring Pops concert.  

May 27: HS Choir performance at graduation.  We will take a bus there in the morning for rehearsal; we will leave the school at 10:00 a.m. and should be back  around 2 or 2:30.  Students are responsible for making arrangements for their own transportation to graduation that evening; they are to wear black choir formalwear and be in place no later than 6:30 p.m.  Graduation starts at 7 p.m.  As soon as the choir is finished performing, they may discreetly slip out and leave.

Student supply list:

New Image and Choir students will need a #2 pencil with an eraser for every class period, along with a solid black 3-ring binder, 1½  or 2 inches.

Piano students will need a #2 pencil with an eraser for every class period, along with a set of personal earbuds or headphones which they will bring to class every day.  Earbuds may be found at local discount stores for less than $2.

 

Class expectations and rules:

You will be given a syllabus with class requirements and upcoming dates.  Please have your parent or guardian read it and sign the back page, and please sign it yourself.  Return this to me for a reward!  :-)

>Follow directions the first time they are given.

>Ask permission to play on classroom instruments or to enter Mrs. Turner’s office.

>Commit to choir or piano!  This is not just a class… it is a performing group.  You are a representative of our school to our community!
