The 5 Pillars of Hudson High School

Robin Thornton

These words Respect, Positive Attitude, Responsibility, Integrity, and Work Ethic give the students and staff at Hudson High school pride, for they remind them of the challenges they have overcome because they upheld these core values.

The students hold their heads high through losses because they don't see them as failures but more so as a learning curve. Players are taught to congratulate the opposing team, win or lose, and students in every class are taught to be optimistic.

At school they are responsible because they are made accountable for their actions. Though many may be young, the students are treated as adults and made responsible for their own choices. By being students at Hudson High School, they are expected to know right from wrong.

The staff helps the children build and grow daily in moral uprightness. They are given high expectations and morals to live up to. This creates a strong sense of integrity from the students and staff and is evident in the day to day lives of each of our students.

The work ethic is seen through students and staff who go above and beyond. They put in the extra hours as well as personal sacrifices and have made it their own personal responsibility to see everyone succeed.

All this and more is the definition of Hudson High School and the students and teachers who live up to it on and off campus. The school is reminded of these goals every day from the beautiful banners that adorn the hall.
