It is a brand new year at Hudson High School and our library has gained a new librarian. Mrs. Meisel has taken over as Media Specialist in the Media Center and has helped bring new resources that will help Hudson students succeed in school and in the real world.

One of the things that will help students is a brand new research management tool that will give students access to information that is both reliable and verified. “We want the Media Center to become a reliable resource that will help students become successful,” says Mrs. Meisel.

There have been other changes beyond technology. Three hundred books have been added to the Media Center’s shelves, ready and waiting for students to read. And because of the convenient system teens will be able to access the stories they want to read. For example, if you happen to be interested in Romance, check out Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon. And if you love suspense The Circle by Dave Eggers is on the shelves.

However, some new and old rules are still being enforced by Mrs.Meisel. In order to protect the brand new books and technology there is no food, drinks or gum allowed. There will be no more walkins during lunch in order to ensure the safety of students. And all school rules will still apply including no cell phone use and the dress code.

The Media Center most important job is to be a place where students can find reliable information and where they can delve into hundreds of fantastic books.
