Toys For Tots

By: Kristen Ferrara

Toys For Tots is a national nonprofit organization, created and operated by the Marine Corps, which collects toys during October, November, and December for families in need. The chapter in Angelina County is led by Brian Crews, and there are 42 drop-off sites around the community.

Hudson High School Student Council wishes support this organization through donations and has turned this toy drive into a class competition. Students should bring new toys to their class sponsor in order to be rewarded. The following is a list of the teachers high schoolers should bring their toys to:

    Freshmen - Mrs. Rich

    Sophomores - Mrs. Gowin

    Juniors - Mrs. McWilliams

    Seniors - Mrs. Godfrey

According to the organization itself, “The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.” Student Council urges the student body to participate, through donations, in order to complete this endeavor.
