Powder Puff Football 2018

Lauren Thornton

On October 16, Hudson High School’s 18th annual Powder Puff game will begin. Kick off is at 5:30 P.M. Admission to attend is $3. Powder puff is a fundraising event for Hudson’s Veterans Day Program. During Powder Puff, the girls will play football and there will be three, single elimination games. The boys will have a cheerleading competition that will take place before the championship game. This year the games will be 6 woman football instead of the traditional 11. The games will be officiated by coach Meisel and coach Phillips to make sure the seniors don’t try and take out any knees.

“We are FANTASTIC so everyone better watch out.”Senior linebacker MaKiley Rhodes said.

The seniors are hungry to attain their third consecutive win. The class of 2019 intends to hold on to the winning title they got in 2016.

“Seniors are going to get a big fat dub! We’re the best of the best.” Gracie England, the senior quarterback, said.

There is nothing but relentless determination coming from the senior team. However, the freshman football team should not be taken lightly.

,“ We are coming out strong and going to beat the juniors.” Emma Jo Burgess, the freshman quarterback, said.

The freshman has been putting in many hours of practice, so it's only a matter of time before we see if can lead them to the championship game.

All grade levels have been practicing football after school for many hours and the boys have been practicing their cheer routines. The cheer competition is not something that should be taken lightly, the boys have been working just as hard as the football teams. Each grade level has a male cheer team and they will competitively perform cheer routines. So on October sixteenth, see for yourself who will take home the trophy.
