New Officers in Town

Emila Lopez

A new year means a new set of officers in Hudson ISD’s Student Council. This year in office we have Co-Presidents Kristen Ferrara and Lauren Slusher, Vice President Garrett Croley, Secretary Haley Brazil, and last but not least Public Relations Officers Mary Beth Ratcliff and Presli Weiblinger.

Our officers this year are very active in the school environment. Not only are many of them involved in a variety of different clubs but most of them are also involved in UIL events and/or in sports. And even with all of these other activities going on in their lives they still find time to organize school events such as: Relay for Life, the Hudson Haunts, Winter Formal, the Veteran’s Day Program, etc…

According to President Lauren Slusher, this year’s student council goals are “...to continue organizing our usual events, while being role models for the student body and giving the students an outlet to grow their leadership skills.” Student Council is focusing on both the school as a whole and on the individual students. If all goes as planned, it seems like Hudson High School has a magnificent year to look forward to.
