Athletes On A Mission

Murphy McDermott

With the new school year starting up, many clubs are taking action. One of those many clubs is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes aka FCA. This non-denominational christian group meets every Thursday night from 6-7:30. One veteran FCA member, Mary Beth Ratcliff has been an avid FCA member all through high school. “Everyone is welcome to FCA; mostly athletes attend because the message are more centered around sports, but we welcome anyone to come.”

FCA is also responsible for hosting events such as the annual ‘See You At The Pole’.Ratcliff described See You At The Pole as “A morning where all believers from schools across the area meet a specific location at their school for a time of prayer. Worship and a message will also be included at Hudson; it is a wonderful time of fellowship for students to really connect.”  See You at the Pole is scheduled for September 28.

“ At FCA meetings we play games, do devotionals, and really try to bond with the other people in the club. As FCA grows so does the relationships between athletes at Hudson.” says Ratcliff. There is also a remind 101 set up for anyone interested in getting notifications about various events within the club. You can text @fcahornets to the number 81010 to get more information. Hope to see you there!
