Penick to continue baseball career

Taylor Squyres

Senior spotlight honors senior students who excels in what they do. As high school goes on, students are faced with major decisions. This weeks senior spotlight nominee, JT Penick, shares with us one of his major decisions...college! Penick is a baseball player at Hudson who will be continuing his education and baseball skills at Dallas Baptist University.

What kind of hard work and dedication did it take for you to get where you are today?

“I have played year round baseball from about the age 8. My life has revolved around the sport for a very long time, and I have spent countless days on the field. It took a ton of work and dedication, but it was all worth it and paid off!”

What is appealing about DBU?

“When I think of what I want out of college baseball experience, I think of playing on a competitive team in a great location, while getting a respectable college degree. DBU is a well known school that offers great degrees, but also is home to a very competitive baseball team. I felt welcome at Dallas Baptist, the campus is beautiful, and it’s in a perfect location between Dallas and Ft. Worth.”

What’s been your best memory you’ve made in high school?

“I think my best memory in high school was made last baseball season. In our last series of our playoff run, our Hudson team, against the odds, beat the future state champions. It was a total team effort. It was one of the best games of my life, and I will never forget it.”

JT Penick deserve every bit of his college acceptance. Congrats to him and all his hard work!!!
