Many students have noticed the absence of Mr. Mijares this school year. Those who fell victim to his scrutiny are rejoicing while others are mourning his descent. Regardless of their dispositions toward Mr. Mijares, students are curious to know who has filled his position. Hudson High      School’s new assistant principal is Mrs. Lopez.

When asked why she was selected for the position, Mrs. Lopez replied, “Everyday is a job interview and I believe that throughout the years I have been at Hudson High school I have exhibited leadership skills, a good work ethic, and I have always presented myself in a professional manner.”

Mrs. Lopez has had to make many adjustments during her transition from an English teacher to a principal. She claims, “I have realized that as a teacher my day was very planned, organized, and my schedule controlled, but as an administrator you do not have control of your schedule.” Despite this, she enjoys her new position.

Many students are wondering how her administration relates to that of Mr. Mijares. Mrs. Lopez states, “Mr. Mijares brought a military background to the position and I bring 14 years of teaching experience to the position plus I might smile a little more often.” This adjustment may come as a relief to many in attendance.

Mrs. Lopez is undeniably qualified for the position and her commitment and goals for this school ensure her exceptionality as a leader. In her own words, “We work as a team at Hudson High School. We are all here to help students be successful in school and prepared for their life after high school.”
