I began teaching music at Hudson ISD in 2016. I currently teach middle school choir and high school choir and piano class.
I began teaching vocal music full-time in 2001. I have taught grades 2-12, as well as teaching private voice lessons to adults. I have taught in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas.
My husband, Dr. Chris Turner, is a voice professor in the music department at Stephen F. Austin University. (Go Lumberjacks!) We have two cats who seem to believe that we are their parents.
I love to ride horses Western style and am on a drill riding team which competes around the state. I also like to read, especially fiction. I’m always appreciative of good book recommendations. I am a complete Tolkien/Lord of the Rings nerd.
I’m fascinated by nature. I once seriously considered changing my college major from music to biology, with thoughts of becoming an entomologist or a herpetologist. I also minored in Italian language and have been to Italy 3 times; I hope to go back again soon.
