Agriculture Equipment Design and Fabrication
This is a class that will center around teaching students the basics of engine technology and the principles of troubleshooting and repairing these engines. The class will feature an in depth look of all aspects that surround the small engine industry. The students will have the opportunity to work on brand new Briggs and Stratton engines that were donated by Briggs and Stratton, Inc. Once they have learned the classroom material, they will embark on becoming certified as a Master Service Technician through Briggs and Stratton’s online testing platform. This is an industry recognized certification that many small gas engine shops require their employees to have completed. Upon completing certification, students will have the opportunity to experience first hand what it is like to work in a small gas engine shop by participating in an instructor lead business-modeled program in which they will service tractors and small gas engine powered equipment. The class will also touch on the basics of tillage equipment, surveying, electrical principles, and many other topics.
