Running Into the new year
Victoria Cox
This year’s cross country season took off with an exciting start. Despite our first meet being cancelled due to hurricane Harvey, we have pulled through and dominated two out the three meets we have participated in so far this year.
“We had a Hudson girl in front of each Fairfield girl just about,” says Amy Stewart. This is our first small victory of the year at the SFA invitational cross country meet.
Fairfield is a prestigious team that we compete with at the regionals invitational meet. They have always left us in the dust, but we have improved and are expecting to run beside, if not in front, of them.
“Hudson’s Natasha Carcano (13:17) capped an individual first-place finish to lead the Lady Hornets to a team win,” says Lufkin Daily News. This past weekend the Lady Hornets cross country team dominated at the Huntington cross country invitational.
There are high hopes of attending the state cross country invitational meet this season, and the beginning of this season shows how much we have improved as a team. We have shown in our running that we are ready.
