I graduated from Huntington High School as Salutatorian of my class in 2012. In May of 2016, I became a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Education. I also recently graduated from Lamar University with my M.Ed. in Educational Administration.
My professional certifications include the following:
I have had opportunities to attend a wide variety of professional development sessions covering topics such as lesson planning and alignment, social and emotional development of adolescents, assessment and accountability, campus safety, classroom management, and student health. I have also had opportunities to attend conferences to further my professional capabilities including the Conference for the Advancement of Mathematics Teaching (CAMT) and an annual conference hosted by the Texas Computer Education Association (TCEA).
This is my second year at Hudson ISD. I currently teach Advanced Algebra 2, Algebra 1, and College Algebra.
I began teaching at Huntington Middle School where I served in multiple teaching roles including Mathematics, Special Education, and English/Language Arts. I also taught high school Algebra courses in Huntington ISD. Prior to the 2022-2023 school year, I also served as the Precalculus, Algebra I, Algebra 2, and Physics teacher at Zavalla ISD.
I am married to Kyle Purvis, a Hudson High School graduate. We have two wonderful daughters. As a family, we enjoy spending time outdoors, travelling, and visiting friends and family.
I am thrilled to be at Hudson High School and am excitedly looking forward to an amazing school year.
